Terms of Service

Start Serbian teaches Serbian through online lessons, review, speaking practice, and optional one-on-one tutoring. A free tier includes the first two units. Start Serbian Plus is a subscription that unlocks the full curriculum. Features and content may grow and change over time.

You are responsible for the information you provide, for keeping your sign-in details safe, and for activity under your account. Accounts are for one person; please do not share or resell yours.

Plus may start with a free trial (currently 3 days) when offered. A payment method is required to start the trial. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, it converts automatically into a paid subscription and your payment method is charged. Trials are one per person, and we may decline a new trial where an account has already had one.

Plus costs $14.99 per month or $119 per year (USD), billed through Stripe. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from the billing section of your profile; cancellation stops the next renewal and your Plus access continues until the end of the period you have paid for. Prices may change, and we will give reasonable notice before a change affects your next renewal.

Plus payments are covered by our 7-day money-back guarantee: if it is not for you, contact us within 7 days of a payment for a full refund of that payment. The details are on the guarantee page.

One-on-one sessions with our tutor are booked in 25-minute ($16) and 50-minute ($32) options, paid at booking. A booking is confirmed by the tutor after payment. If you need to reschedule, contact us as early as you can and we will do our best to find a new time.

Please use the service for your own learning. Do not misuse it: no attempts to access other accounts or our systems without permission, no scraping or bulk downloading of content, no resale of accounts or content, and no unlawful use. We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules.

Lessons, text, audio, images, and software in the service belong to Start Serbian or our licensors. Your subscription gives you a personal license to use them for your own learning; it does not transfer ownership, and content may not be copied or redistributed outside the service.

We work to keep the service available and accurate, but it is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, and we do not promise specific learning outcomes. To the extent allowed by law, our total liability for any claim connected to the service is limited to the amounts you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

You can delete your account at any time from your profile settings. Deleting your account cancels any active subscription and removes your learning data, as described in the Privacy Policy.

We may update these terms; the version on this page is the current one, and continued use after a change means you accept it. These terms are governed by the laws of British Columbia, Canada.
